As fakes flood the market, authentication becomes the biggest problem for collectors of Wu Guangzhong’s works. This issue aims to reveal the key to distinguishing Wu’s genuine paintings from forgeries. The master himself is the author of the articles “On Forgeries”, “On Nude Paintings”, “My Views on Painting Materials” and “Portraying Tigers”. To illustrate the discussion on authenticating Wu’s paintings, we have included photos of forgeries, provided by the artist himself, for comparison with genuine ones. This issue also introduces Wu’s latest works, including his figure paintings and paintings of Hong Kong landscapes, published along with articles on Wu’s life, the development of his styles and the theoretical foundations of his art.
