Li Keran is one of the most renowned painters in Chinese art. This issue introduces 83 pieces of his best works, featuring his masterpieces dated from 1943 to 1989, the final year of his life. We have selected Li’s most representative landscape, figure and buffalo paintings and works of calligraphy, completed in different periods of his life, in order to bring to you a comprehensive study of Li’s stylistic developments and the characteristics of his art.
