It has been estimated that Shanghai School master Wu Changshuo has completed 3,000 flower paintings, but only several dozens of landscape paintings and a few figure paintings. This issue compiles as many as 40 of Wu Changshuo’s landscape and figure paintings from Hong Kong and Taiwan private collections, with analyses written by Shanghai School experts. Professor Ma Kwok Kuen examines Wu’s seals. Mr. Ding Xiyuan summarises his visit to Wu’s birthplace and discusses the key to accurate authentication of Wu’s works. Also included in this issue is a report on Wu’s works of art in international auctions.
