This issue compiles fan paintings by over 20 prominent artists, most of which published in their original sizes. Experts discuss the history of Chinese fans, their characteristics, types and stylistic traits of fan paintings by different artists. We also introduce Wang Yangzi’s Landscape in the Style of Huang Gongwang from the Xubaizhai Collection, one of the works of which Wang himself was most proud. Wang is one of the “Six Masters of the Qing Dynasty”, who often painted in the style of Huang Gongwang, one of the “Four Masters of the Yuan Dynasty”. Also included are the continuations of Huang Binhong’s authentication report on paintings in the National Palace Museum and “Essence of Model Calligraphy” by Zhang Boying.
