Lotus has always been a popular subject in Chinese art. This issue introduces lotus paintings by over forty 19th and 20th century artists, printed with enlarged details of selected works for careful examination. Experts analyse the distinctive styles and techniques employed by different artists in lotus paintings throughout the history of Chinese art. Mr. Wu Hao and Mr. Huang Yongyu demonstrate the creative process of lotus painting.
