Zhong Kui the exorcist, the ghost-catcher par excellence, is undoubtedly the most popular mythological figure in Chinese art history. This issue compiles selected masterpieces depicting Zhong Kui painted by artists from the Ming dynasty (1368–1644) onwards, including Dai Jin, Li Lin, Zhang Mu, Gao Qipei, Hua Yan, Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Fu Baoshi and many others.
