This issue features selected masterpieces by Ren Bonian from the collection of, inter alia, the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai Museum, the Zhejiang Provincial Museum and Xubaizhai. Most of these works are never before published and are now printed in their original sizes. This issue examines Ren’s literary contribution from a historical point of view. Interviews with Ren’s grandson Mr. Ren Changgai, renowned collectors of Ren’s paintings Mr. Qian Jingtang and Mr. Zhang Chenwang, reveal first-hand information essential for an in-depth understanding of Ren Bonian’s art.
